The Alliance Française de Dallas is seeking for a part-time experienced and passionate Program Coordinator. In this position, under the authority of the Executive Director, you will be responsible for managing and leading the AFD education team by overseeing the delivery of quality French language educational programs and the development and implementation of effective strategies to meet student retention, completion, and active learning goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Curriculum Development: Collaborate with language instructors and educational experts to develop and update curriculum materials for French language courses, ensuring alignment with CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) standards and incorporating innovative teaching methodologies.

Teacher Recruitment and Training: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of qualified French language instructors. Provide ongoing support, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and student engagement.

Class Scheduling and Enrollment Management: Coordinate the scheduling of language courses, workshops, and special programs to meet the needs of students and optimize classroom utilization. Monitor enrollment levels and make recommendations for class size adjustments as needed.

Student Support and Progress Monitoring: Oversee student placement assessments, orientation sessions, and academic advising to ensure that students are placed in appropriate courses and receive the support they need to achieve their language learning goals.

Resource Management: Manage resources such as textbooks, teaching materials, and audiovisual aids, ensuring that instructors have access to the necessary tools and resources to deliver effective instruction.

Collaboration and Partnerships: Collaborate with other departments within Alliance Française, as well as external partners such as schools, universities, and cultural

Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks related to academic operations, including maintaining student records, preparing reports, managing budgets, and liaising with relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in French language, education, linguistics, or a related field.
  • Native or near-native fluency in French and proficiency in English.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in language education, including curriculum development, teacher training, and program management.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with the CEFR framework and knowledge of best practices in language teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Passion for French language and culture, and a commitment to promoting language learning and cultural exchange.
